The Stubai Tour Ultralight Ice Axe is a lightweight ice axe that is perfect for your various ski tours. It’s perfectly suited for hard firn or deep, hard snow, especially when you need to use it as support on ascents and descents. Plunging the axe into the snow is a doddle thanks to the lack of a gripper. The aluminium can penetrate snow with ease. It is not suited for breaking up ice due to its lack of a sharp pick. Cutting steps on your way to the summit on a ski tour is no fun with this axe, either. However, you can use it as an anchor (in right conditions) if you need to do a crevasse rescue.
